The Ultimate Upscaling Showdown: FSR 3.1 vs DLSS 3.7 vs XeSS 1.3

Nice and detailed article, thanks guys!!
Anw, with the prices nowadays, even if DLSS and FSR improve a lot, I'll still say no to upgrading a new GPU. The price is not irrelevant since these features are one of the main marketing points (staring at NVIDIA). Besides, I personally still prefer raw perf than turning on these features to generate more FPS.

I do like the progress of FSR, but I will wait for the next generation before making any changes. Additionally, having FSR AA would be great.

When is FSR 4 with AI upscaling coming? Hopefully with RDNA4 release, but I somehow doubt it. Nvidia will have DLSS 4 out probably a year before AMD.

Frame generation is something quite interesting. It'd have been nice to be included in the article.

We have tested frame generation; although it’s related, it is not quite the same as what we were testing here:

I don't know, from the still pictures of various games, all 3 look very similar. I don't think anyone would stop and try to see every detail while playing. I guess, the only thing that matters is, which gives a higher frame rate to play smoothly..

Amghwk, I’ve tried some. When moving, one can see some graphical glitches. However, some settings are so good that the image quality could be considered fine. It depends on the game, upscaling technology, and settings. I play at native resolution without upscaling.

The screenshots of XeSS and FSR are so misleading, because they hide how god aweful the temporal stability of those is, the graphics jitter so hard, it's untakeable. FSR frame generation is far better than dlss frame gen tho. Yes I checked, it still apllies to fsr 3.1. what even is the point of FSR at this point. You get FAR better results with resolution scaling and sgssaa. Forcable in the driver settings.
